Real Agrado Rioja Tinto

At the southern tip of the Rioja, specifically in the Rioja Oriental region, lies the beautiful Real Agrado winery. It all began in 1974, when the first vines were planted in the rich soil. The winery was founded with the goal of producing the finest and richest Rioja wines. The initial years focused primarily on nurturing the vineyards, a feat that proved more than successful. In 2005, the winery took a major step forward, becoming fully independent in winemaking. Investments were made in a modern winery and the purchase of many new oak barrels. To date, the Real Agrado winery has received numerous awards, a remarkable achievement.

The harvest of the Garnacha and Tempranillo grapes

The vineyards for this red Real Agrado Rioja are quite old. They were planted in 1992 and 1975, and are currently producing a top-notch harvest. But that doesn't happen automatically, the winemaker explains; it takes constant hard work to bring out the best. The climate also plays a significant role, as there needs to be sufficient sunshine but also coolness. Well, that's perfectly fine, as the grapes are so powerful and full-bodied that aging in oak barrels is unnecessary.

The aroma and taste of the Real Agrado Rioja Tinto

The grapes are harvested entirely by hand to obtain only the finest bunches. This results in a very powerful and exceptionally pure juice. But let's start with the rich aroma this wine possesses; we noted intense aromas of violets, blueberries, and strawberries. The juiciness also brings a great deal of joy to the palate, as it is soft and very approachable. A lovely attack of red and black fruit with a light spiciness. The finish of this Real Agrado wine has a soft, spicy aftertaste.
