RedHeads Studio was born from the passion of a group of young winemakers who decided to forge their own path in McLaren Vale, Australia. Their goal was simple: to create wines with soul, character, and personality. They sought out the finest grapes in South Australia and chose not to be limited by the big names in the industry. Instead, they wanted to truly let the grapes do the talking and create wines that tell a story. This has resulted in wines that are not only delicious but also create a deeper connection with their lovers.
The King of Barossa
Shiraz is to Australians what Pinot Noir is to the French: the country's flagship grape. The "King of the Barossa," as this Shiraz is affectionately known, hails from the Marananga region, renowned for its top-quality grapes. The production process is meticulous: after crushing, the grapes ferment in open tanks and mature for 18 months in French and American oak barrels. This gives the wine its complexity and depth. The result? A deep red wine that perfectly expresses the essence of the Barossa.
The Red Heads King of Barossa Shiraz tantalizes your nose with aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant, and plum, along with hints of pepper, eucalyptus, and toast. This delightful aroma continues on the palate, where you'll discover a full-bodied flavor, rich in fruit and soft tannins. You'll taste spicy pepper and juicy meaty notes, while oak-aged flavors like vanilla and toast add another layer to the enjoyment. This makes the Red Heads King of Barossa Shiraz a true taste experience that elevates the traditional Shiraz experience.
The passion of Red Heads
The story of RedHeads Studio begins in an old barn in McLaren Vale and now extends to Tanuda in the Barossa Valley. It is a story of passion, creativity, and perseverance. Led by Tom Laithwaite and with Alex Trescowthick in the cellar, RedHeads crafts wines that showcase the diversity and richness of Australian grapes. With its own 10-hectare Shiraz vineyard in the Barossa Valley, RedHeads Studio remains true to its mission of crafting wines free from corporate constraints, yet brimming with personality and character.
