The traditional winegrowing of Regnard
Maison Régnard, one of the oldest and most prestigious houses in Burgundy, was founded in 1860 by Mr. Zéphir Regnard. Baron Patrick de Ladoucette took over the estate in 1984 and has since continued and refined the style of his wines. The baron has chosen to expand his prestigious house to the capital of Burgundy wines, establishing himself in a majestic mansion with 18th-century cellars in the heart of Beaune's old town.
With respect for tradition, Maison Régnard produces the 7 Grands Crus de Chablis (Les Clos, Bougros, Blanchots, Grenouilles, Preuses, Valmur and Vaudésir), the 5 most important Premiers Crus (Fourchaume, Montmains, Vaillons, Montée de Tonnerre and Mont de Midden), Chablis, Petit Chablis.
Completely hand-harvested for Regnard Bourgogne Chardonnay
The Chardonnay grapes for this Regnard Bourgogne are harvested by hand. After harvesting, the grapes are carefully transported to the cellar, where, after rigorous inspection and selection, they are destemmed and pressed. Only the finest juice is good enough to bear the Regnard label. Therefore, the grapes are subject to strict controls. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in thermoregulated steel vats. Malolactic fermentation takes place two-thirds in steel vats and one-third in oak vats. After a short aging period, the Chardonnay is bottled, ready to be enjoyed.
The Regnard Bourgogne Chardonnay is a bright, sparkling yellow, and the aroma is exquisite, with notes of sweet, ripe fruit and caramel. It's clean, slightly oily, subtle, and floral. The palate has a robust attack, concentrated, and refined; it lingers beautifully, with a soft acidity and an elegant finish.
