When you think of the Mosel, you think of sweet white wines. One of the most famous sweet white wines from the Mosel region is this Rheinhardt Fuchs Bereich Bernkastel. All Reinhardt Fuchs wines come from the renowned German family business Zimmer-Graeff & Muller. The winery has been family-run for four generations with extensive knowledge, experience, and drive. Head winemaker Peter Griebeler has held ultimate responsibility for Reinhardt Fuchs wines, among other things, for many years. A responsible task that he is uniquely qualified to perform. It's no wonder these wines can be found worldwide.
White wine from the beautiful Mosel region
The Mosel region is one of Germany's most famous wine regions. The beautiful slopes bisected by the Mosel River are a characteristic sight everyone will recognize. Traditionally, sweet table wines are produced here, but today the region is also very good at producing top-quality gastronomic wines. This Bereich Bernkastel is a combination of both. A very good table wine, but also certainly suitable for gastronomy. The wine is made from the Silvaner, Riesling, Kerner, and Müller-Thurgau grape varieties. Four grape varieties that thrive in the somewhat cooler German climate. Because the grapes grow on slopes along the Mosel, there is a rich soil structure from which the grapes draw plenty of nutrients. The altitude of the vines also provides ample sunlight for proper ripening.
A perfect end result!
We've already heard so much about Rheinhardt Fuchs wines. It's no wonder we're now incredibly curious about the taste of this Bereich Bernkastel. Upon opening the bottle, we immediately get that unique German "Moselle feeling." The characteristic bright green bottle immediately transports us to Germany. The bright golden color with a slightly fuller structure suggests this could be a delicious wine. The aroma reveals white fruit, citrus, a touch of honey, blossom, and mango. A good start. The taste is soft and refined with a pleasant dose of sweetness—not too little, but certainly not too much. The fruit notes are clearly present, followed by a smooth finish.
