Description
Roonen Bergh Primum 2024
Primum is the white cuvée of Heerlyckheyt Roonen Bergh, sourced from Chardonnay, Auxerrois, and Pinot Blanc grapes planted on the slopes of the Rodeberg in 2020. The first bottling in 2021 consisted of 700 bottles, followed by the second vintage in 2022, and the 2023 vintage was deliberately omitted to maintain high quality. The new Primum 2024 is now available, with the same focus on tension, precision, and fresh, full-bodied wine. Vineyards and region
The grapes come from Rodeberg, Belgium. Iron sandstone retains heat and aids ripening, while the clay is fertile, moisture-retaining, and easily rootable. The slope provides natural drainage, and the surrounding forest creates a favorable microclimate. This results in a pure, fresh style with a distinct minerality.
Vinification and maturation
Harvested manually. The full bunches are gently pressed, and fermentation and maturation take place in stainless steel. After fermentation, the wine remains on the fine lees for six months for added texture and cohesion. It is then filtered and bottled to preserve its pure, energetic signature.
Grape composition
Chardonnay – Rodeberg

Tasting notes and serving suggestions
Pale yellow and clear. Pure nose with citrus, orange zest, blossom, and stone fruit. Crisp and fresh on the palate, mineral and precise, with fine acidity and a lovely freshness. The finish is balanced, with sufficient fruit density and length. Serve at 7–10°C. Ideal as an aperitif and excellent with fresh salads, poultry, and fish dishes.
