A superb Muscat wine from vineyards over 40 years old. The grapes are planted at an altitude of 800 meters above sea level, where they enjoy an excellent climate.
High-altitude wines
The history of the Rosset Terroir began in 2001, when the family planted their first three hectares of vineyards in the Senin area of Saint-Christophe, growing Chardonnay, Syrah, and the indigenous Cornalin. Shortly thereafter, Petit Rouge, a grape symbolic of the indigenous people of the Valle d'Aosta, was also added to the range. In the following years, the Rosset company acquired an additional two hectares of Moscato Bianco vineyards in the suitable Chambave area, where our Chambave Muscat Vallée d'Aoste PDO was born. In 2017, the company took a different path. Altitude, to be precise. They decided to grow grapes at an altitude of 900 meters in the commune of Villeuneuve. And with success. This led the family to explore altitude in other areas as well.
The Muscat grapes are harvested at peak ripeness. This is usually done early in the morning to preserve their fine qualities. A strict selection process follows in the winery, after which the grapes undergo cold maceration. Vinification takes place partly in amphorae and partly in grapes. Finally, the wine is aged for approximately six months.
A dry fresh Rosset Terroir Valle d'Aosta Chambave Muscat
The result is a straw-yellow, clear wine. An aromatic wine with notes of sage, thyme, flowers, and white peach. It seduces you from the first sip. On the palate, it's a dry, fresh wine. The fruity notes blend beautifully with the fresh herbs. A soft wine with good flavor and balance. This wine pairs well with fish dishes, white meat, or a cheese board.
