The Rosset Terroir winery is committed to protecting native grape varieties. For example, they are particularly committed to the Petite Arvine. This grape has Swiss roots but is also widely planted in the Aosta Valley. At an altitude of 600 meters, the grapes thrive in the climate and, thanks to the sandy soil, develop unique characteristics.

Manual harvest for Rosset Terroir Valle d'Aosta Petite Arvine

With grapes planted at altitudes of 700 to 1000 meters, Rosset distinguishes itself. They exemplify the challenges of Valle d'Aosta. It is anything but an easy region for winemaking. In 2011, the Rosset family planted their first vineyards. Cornalin, Chardonnay, and Syrah are grown in the rocky, sandy soil of St. Cirstophe. Later, plantings were added in Chambave, known for the Moscato Bianco grape, and in Villeneuve, where they grow their Petite Arvine and Pinot Grigio. They are particularly committed to indigenous grape varieties. The Petite Arvine grapes are harvested entirely by hand with great care at the end of September. The grapes are then transported almost immediately to the winery, where they undergo strict quality control and a gentle pressing. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature, a process that takes several months. Finally, the wine is aged in stainless steel vats. After a few months of rest, the wine is bottled, and it's time to enjoy this Valle d'Aosta Petite Arvine.

What does the Rosset Terroir Valle d'Aosta Petite Arvine taste like?

With a beautiful straw-yellow color, the Valle d'Aosta Petite Arvine appears in the glass. Perhaps a lesser-known grape variety, but one with beautiful characteristics. For example, this wine has aromas of flowers, jasmine, apple, and citrus on the nose. The palate is pleasantly juicy with a good balance of sweetness and acidity. A well-balanced white wine from the Aosta Valley.
