Wow, what a big, fat Chardonnay this Rutherford Ranch Reserve is! For those who love oak-aged Chardonnay, this wine is perfect. Vineyards from across the Napa Valley provide these high-quality, promising grapes. Of the varietals planted in Carneros, Chardonnay has proven to be one of the highest quality.
Sustainable wine growing for three generations

The estate winery and vineyards, located on the historic Silverado Trail in Napa Valley's renowned Rutherford appellation, were established in 1978. A three-generation family is committed to sustainable viticulture and fine winemaking. All their wines are sourced from diverse Napa Valley microclimates to create complex, elegant wines that reflect the exceptional richness of Napa's terroirs. The winery is certified as California Sustainable Winegrowing (CCSW), and the estate vineyards are a combination of sustainable and organic.

The weather conditions created near-perfect grape concentration and the familiar, bright acidity that Carneros Chardonnay fans have come to admire. With winds blowing in from San Pablo Bay, Carneros's temperatures are generally cooler and more moderate than regions further north, making it ideal for growing cool-season Chardonnay grapes. The grapes for this Reserve Chardonnay come from a single vineyard in the appellation, the Rutherford family's newest estate. After harvest, the Chardonnay undergoes 100% malolactic fermentation and is aged for ten months in French and American oak barrels.
