The Chardonnay: who doesn't know it? An all-time classic that has dominated winemaking for centuries. Thousands of wineries offer this iconic wine, sometimes with success, sometimes less so. The Chardonnay wine from Saint Colias is one such example of a truly successful wine. A true success from the first sip to the very last drop.
The French wine Saint Colias Chardonnay
This star of French wines comes from a winery we've been working with for years, Les Vignerons du Narbonnais. This winery has existed for over 85 years and has created many fine wines in that time. It's a cooperative of 330 local winegrowers whose vineyards are located around the medium-sized city of Narbonne. In total, the vineyards encompass over 1,500 hectares. This ensures an inexhaustible supply of grapes, allowing the winemakers to select the finest bunches for their Saint Colias Chardonnay wine. The cooperative has access to state-of-the-art equipment, allowing them to produce wine on a large scale without compromising quality.
The Saint Colias Chardonnay Cuvée Reserve is produced in the Languedoc wine region, located in the south of France. The winemaking process begins with the careful pressing of only the finest grapes. This ensures that only the highest-quality juice is used for winemaking. After pressing, the juice is transferred to stainless steel tanks for fermentation. During fermentation, the natural sugars in the juice are converted into alcohol by yeast. Fermentation is carefully controlled to ensure the wine develops the desired flavor and aroma characteristics.
