When we think of velvety smooth yet complex, we think of Salentein Barrel Merlot. This beautiful red wine has a deep purple-red color. On the nose, we detected pleasant aromas of ripe red fruit, cedar, and a light hint of spice and vanilla. The taste of this Salentein Merlot is velvety smooth with good complexity. This complexity makes us realize that this is not a "simple Merlot." The delicious nuances of ripe red fruit are perfectly complemented by hints of vanilla, oak, and light spice. The finish is full and silky smooth, making another sip almost a given.

The best Merlot wine from Bodega Salentein

This red wine comes from Bodega Salentein. The Merlot vines for this Salentein Barrel Merlot are planted in the Valle de Uco in Mendoza. Mendoza is Argentina's most famous wine region, home to many great wines. The vineyards are planted on coarse, rocky soil, perfect for water permeability. At an altitude of 1200 meters, the grapes enjoy abundant sunshine and warmth during the day and a pleasant coolness at night, creating almost perfect growing conditions for the grapes. To add further complexity, the wines are aged for nine months in French oak barrels.

Full and very soft this Salentein Barrel Merlot

This Salentein Barrel Merlot comes from Bodega Salentein, a winery that has been passionate about crafting great wines since 1997. These wines are made by a team of passionate employees, all of whom live in the region where the winery is located. Founder Meindert Pon felt it was crucial that the local community benefit from the new winery. This philosophy remains true to this day. Even after Meindert Pon's death in 2014, this philosophy lives on: crafting beautiful wines with a focus on the local community. Salentein wines receive awards year after year, and rightly so! What superb wines!
