Salentein Malbec MAGNUM

Salentein Winery doesn't just produce 0.75-liter bottles. Salentein's most famous wine, the Salentein Barrel Malbec, is also available in Magnum bottles, or 1.5 liters. This Magnum bottle makes a great gift or a perfect gift for a larger group. Meindert Pon, founder of Bodega Salentein, always enjoyed serving this size bottle when groups visited the Bodega. Meindert Pon established Salentein Winery in 1997. At that time, he purchased vineyards in the Valle de Uco, in the heart of Mendoza. From that moment on, he was able to translate his passion for wine into authentic wines. In doing so, he paid close attention to the local community and the surrounding nature.

The grapes for this renowned Malbec wine grow on hillsides at an altitude of around 1200 meters. This provides the perfect climate for Malbec. During the day, the grapes soak up the full rays of sunlight and in the evenings, they are delightfully cooled by the cool breeze that blows through the valley. The soil structure is also crucial for Malbec. All these conditions ensure that Bodega Salentein produces wines from the Malbec grape like no other! The grapes for this Magnum Salentein Barrel Malbec are all carefully harvested by hand, after which they are aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. After bottling, the wine is allowed to rest in the bottle for another 6 months in the beautiful cellars of Salentein. The result: a superb Malbec wine in an even more beautiful Magnum bottle. The color is an intense, deep dark red with a black core. On the nose, we discovered delicious aromas of black fruit, dark chocolate, and a light smoky wood. A soft hint of vanilla lingers on the finish. The palate is full and thick, a true Malbec. A Malbec always deserves a pleasant dose of tannins that add even more complexity. This redder gem is no exception. Beautiful nuances of black fruit alternate with dark chocolate, a touch of spice, and a hint of vanilla. The finish is intense and full. A perfect wine to pair with meat dishes or fine cheeses!
