The true pinnacle of Bodega Salentein. This gem hails from the mighty cellars of Bodega Salentein. The cellars are located eight meters underground, and the wine matures in a circle. The architecture is reminiscent of an ancient amphitheater. Impressive! This white wine ranks among the finest of both Salentein and all Argentine wines. Salentein Primus Chardonnay isn't always available. This wine is produced only in exceptionally good vintages. So, you'll enjoy Salentein Primus Chardonnay twice as much.
The impressive winery
Bodega Salentein is not even thirty years old, but it already boasts an impressive history. It was founded in 1992 by Dutch entrepreneur Mijndert Pon, who was looking to change the course of his business. He commissioned the construction of a magnificent winery in Valle de Uco, near Mendoza. The entire estate encompasses a whopping 2,000 hectares! That's enormous, even by Argentine standards. The Chardonnay grapes for Salentein Primus Chardonnay grow on the slopes of the Andes, where they benefit perfectly from the climate. The soil is also excellent. Its rocky nature allows the vines to grow deep roots, where they draw the necessary nutrients.
The aroma and taste of Salentein Primus Chardonnay
Only in exceptionally good years will Salentein Primus Chardonnay be made. Harvesting is done manually, and the oak aging is exceptional. This white wine is aged for a full 10 months in new French oak. Because the oak is new, it releases a wealth of flavor. This is immediately reflected in the aroma of Salentein Primus Chardonnay. You smell baked apple, honey, and vanilla, but also apricots and a hint of floral notes. The palate is full-bodied. Wow, wow, wow. Wonderful from the first sip to the last drop. You'll taste softness and creaminess. Vanilla and soft tropical fruit. A treat for Chardonnay lovers!
