A beautiful example of a classy German wine. Von Winning specializes in Riesling, but this jack-of-all-trades is capable of so much more. How about a Sauvignon Blanc? It's particularly unique, especially since it comes from Germany. This 'Sauvignon Blanc II' is a new version of Sauvignon Blanc, in a slightly drier and fresher style, which once again emphasizes Von Winning's innovative and innovative character as a winemaker.
Winemaking at Von Winning
In the Von Winning vineyard, every effort is made not to disrupt the vineyard ecosystem, but to support it. The grapes have deep roots, allowing them to perfectly express the terroir's unique character in the wines. Riesling, in particular, is taking Von Winning's vineyards by storm. However, some time ago, the winemaker decided to experiment with Sauvignon Blanc. Normally, the German climate is too cold and wet for this queen of freshness, but Von Winning is located in Palatinate, the epitome of success. Due to the location of the Vosges and the Haardt Mountains, it is 3 to 4 degrees warmer in Palatinate. This makes Palatinate a haven for grapevines. Sauvignon Blanc has also become quite at home in the vineyards. This has resulted in the revamped wine, not for nothing called Sauvignon Blanc II.
The aromas and flavors of Von Winning Sauvignon Blanc II
This ripe white wine has aromas of gooseberry and a hint of grapefruit, wonderfully refreshing and even a little energetic. You can tell the wine is inspired by the Loire Sauvignon Blanc. The fresh character of Von Winning Sauvignon Blanc II is also evident in the palate. Beautiful, refined acidity with fruity aromas of green apple, gooseberry, and citrus completes the whole experience! The palate is quite full-bodied, with subtle hints of peach and a touch of ripe melon. The finish leaves a lovely, tingling, refreshing finish. We're very happy with this.
