The Schlumberger Gold is a sparkling wine from Schlumberger's "Secco" series. This series is designed for the modern wine drinker. Not only is the look of this series modern and innovative, but so is the taste. Because they use a higher residual sugar, these sparkling wines are smoother to drink and not completely dry, as we've come to expect from most sparkling wines. This Schlumberger Gold has a beautiful pale yellow color with a golden sheen. The mousse dances pleasantly in the glass. The aroma is full, fruity with a soft hint of almond. This soft hint of almond is also definitely noticeable in the delicious finish. The palate offers pleasant nuances of yellow and white fruit and a light hint of citrus. The bubbles are pleasant, present but not overpowering. The finish is full and long. A sparkling classic with a modern twist!

What a class Bubble this Schlumberger Gold

This sparkling white wine is made by Schlumberger, a winery founded by Robert Schlumberger. After years of experience producing Champagnes in France, the German Robert emigrated to Austria to further expand his knowledge with his partner. The Schlumberger Winery was born. Because Schlumberger was already producing sparkling wines long before the strict regulations surrounding Champagne, he was the only one permitted to use the Champagner designation. This can still be seen today on the facade of the cellars in Vienna.

The scent and taste of Schlumberger Gold

This sparkling wine is made using the Méthode Traditionelle (Traditional Method). This isn't surprising, considering all the expertise was acquired in Champagne. The grapes used for this Schlumberger Gold are Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The Chardonnay grapes come from Lower Austria, and the Pinot Noir from Burgenland. These grapes are grown by a select group of approximately 400 winegrowing families who grow grapes under contract for Schlumberger. Schlumberger itself doesn't own any vineyards. Naturally, all vineyards are closely monitored by Schlumberger to ensure quality year after year.
