Quality wines from Selva Capuzza

The Selva Capuzza estate is one of the few wineries that produces in three different DOCs. They own vineyards in Lugana, San Martino della Battaglia, and Garda. Each wine is produced naturally under the strict supervision of winemaker and owner Luca Formentini. You won't find just any Merlot or Chardonnay grapes planted here. They work exclusively with local grapes: Turbiana and Tuchì for whites and Gropello, Sangiovese, Barbera, and Marzemino for reds. Yields are deliberately kept low, as quality is paramount. This results in juicy and concentrated wines with beautiful characteristics. The grapes are grown on the beautiful hills south of Lake Garda. At peak ripeness, they are hand-picked and taken directly to the winery. Here, the grapes are gently pressed, after which alcoholic fermentation takes place at low temperatures. The wine is aged for six months in stainless steel tanks before bottling. Finally, it is bottle-aged for another six months before release.

How does the Selva Capuzza Groppello San Biagio taste?

This Groppello San Biagio from the Selva Capuzza winery boasts a ruby-red color with subtle violet reflections. Upon pouring, we immediately enjoy an intense and complex aroma. Notes of red berries and raspberries blend with the aromas of pepper and cinnamon. Delightfully sweet and fruity. The palate is beautifully balanced with red fruit on one side and delightful acidity on the other. The fruity notes lead to a fresh and spicy finish.
