This Singular is a wine made from grapes grown using sustainable farming practices at Quinta de Santa Teresa, Baião, and exclusively selected by the winemaker. It's the cream of the crop from this beautiful Portuguese winery; you'd imagine it's the winemaker's flagship wine. Well, we can certainly say that's true, because this white Singular is a wine for connoisseurs!

A warm microclimate for the Singular

This Avesso is marketed by the Portuguese winery A&D. Alexandre & Dialina Gomas, hence the name, are technical engineers with a deep passion for wine. The family estate, Casa do Arrabalde, was replanted in 1991, comprising five hectares of vineyards. Later, two additional estates were acquired. These three estates are located in the Minho region, Baião subregion, bordering the Douro River. Here, the grapes enjoy a warm microclimate, benefiting from abundant sunshine. Singular is a Vinho Verde made from the oldest vines of Quinta de Santa Teresa, on the border between the Minho and Douro rivers. The granite soils lie at an altitude of 200-400 meters. Only organic fertilizers are used, and no herbicides or pesticides are used. The hand-harvested grapes are transported in small containers to the cellar. There, they are destemmed and crushed. The grapes macerate in the press for a few hours before pressing. Fermentation takes place partly in oak barrels and partly in stainless steel tanks. The malolactic fermentation is blocked to preserve freshness. After clarification and filtration, the wine is bottled.

Enjoy the aromatic wine Singular

Straw-yellow wine with greenish reflections. Some fine bubbles of carbon dioxide are visible. Aromatic nose of white fruit, tropical fruit, and minerality. Juicy on the palate with abundant fruit, medium-bodied, and lacking the slightly sparkling character typical of many wines from this region. A fairly full-bodied, modern Vinho Verde from the Baião subregion. This top wine from the estate would benefit from at least a few months of bottle rest after bottling.
