This Kingpin wine series is made by the Felix Solis family, who have been established in beautiful Spain for many years. The winery was founded approximately 70 years ago and has made significant investments over the years. Today, it boasts a very modern winery with many old vineyards that yield a superb harvest. For this white Kingpin, we travel to the Castilla-La Mancha wine region. It is also the largest wine region in the world. This is where the three grape varieties used for this white wine are grown: Verdejo, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay.

The grapes for the white Kingpin wine grow on old vines, resulting in a small but fantastic harvest. All three grape varieties ripen in different locations because each grape requires its own climate and soil type. Once the grapes reach full ripeness, they are harvested individually. Felix Solis harvests the grapes at night to minimize damage and oxidation. Initially, each grape variety is fermented separately, after which the blend for this white Kingpin is created. The Chardonnay grape is then aged in oak for another three months, giving this white wine both a full-bodied and fresh finish.

Full and very powerful this white Kingpin wine

Just like its red brother, this white Kingpin is fantastic, and the party with streamers and balloons begins the moment you open the bottle. As soon as the bottle is opened, the fruit bursts into the world; we noted plenty of tropical fruit with a hint of citrus. As soon as this wine is poured into the glass, we see a yellow color with a green rim. With our noses over the glass, we smell the Spanish sun, plenty of tropical fruit like pineapple, mango, and lychee, but also some citrus notes. The palate is lightly fresh with full, rounded flavors of apricot, lime, and passion fruit. On the back of the tongue, it also offers a touch of vanilla and oak, making it a truly complete glass of wine.
