A pure and genuine wine that beautifully showcases the Verdejo grape. The grapes come from very old vineyards in the village of La Seca. Rolling vineyards, low yields, a respectful and traditional winemaking process, and Telmo's decades of experience and expertise make this El Trnasistor a wonderful, high-quality wine.
The young Spanish winemaker Telmo Rodriguez
Telmo Rodriguez is certainly one of the youngest winemakers in the Spanish wine industry. He studied in Bordeaux and later in the Rhône, where he learned many tricks of the trade. He was a winemaker at his father's estate. But he left around 1994 to embark on his own wine journey. He considers himself a driving winemaker. He lives in Madrid but travels throughout Spain to make wine in different regions. And it was during one such trip that he discovered the hill of Arrebatacapes. Situated at an altitude of 1,050 meters, on a steep slope surrounded by juniper, rosemary, and lavender. A beautiful landscape with impressive Grenache varieties planted.
At optimal ripeness, the Verdejo grapes are harvested by hand and carefully transported in small boxes to the winery. Hand-harvesting was chosen because it allows for selection to take place in the vineyard itself. After destemming, the grapes are fermented with their own yeasts in wooden barrels. This process takes approximately 8 to 9 months.
The subtle fruity notes of El Transistor
The Telmo Rodriguez El Transistor is an aromatic wine with distinct fruit and subtle oak notes. It has a powerful flavor, with a sultry mouthfeel that alternates with lovely freshness and minerality. A balanced Verdejo that's quite surprising. Enjoy this white wine with fish, lobster, a cheese platter, or a chicken dish. A versatile wine that pairs well with a variety of dishes.
