This wine represents the lesser-known Toro region. With the G Gago, Telmo showcases what this region has to offer. The vineyards are primarily planted with the Tinto Roriz grape, a clone of the better-known Tempranillo. On the region's sandstone soils, the grape develops beautifully into an aromatic wine in perfect harmony.

14 months of wood aging for G Gago

Telmo Rodriguez's thirty-year history clearly demonstrates this winemaker's love of adventure. Thanks to various travels, the winery has grown and steadily improved in quality. This has allowed them to discover diverse landscapes, grape varieties, and terroirs. For example, the Rioja Alavesa is a region where the soil consists of both clay and limestone. This creates a unique quality, beautifully reflected in the final wine. The wines are all versatile and all made from indigenous grape varieties. The vineyards are situated at a perfect altitude, allowing the grapes to benefit from an excellent climate. The diverse soil types make the wine unique and give it its own distinct character. The blend consists of Tinta de Toro and Albino Mayor, a perfectly balanced combination. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand, with a strict selection taking place during the harvest. In the winery, the grapes are further sorted and destemmed. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts follows. Finally, the wine is aged in wooden barrels for approximately 14 months.

The thrilling finish of Telmo Rodriguez G Gago

The Gago G radiates a ruby red color. The aromas leap immediately from the glass, with notes of cherry and earth predominating. A characterful glass of red wine with a wonderfully structured palate. The fruity notes are clearly evident, but a light smokiness gives the wine a bit more bite and carries through to a thrilling finish.
