An elegant blend with a Tuscan touch. This Oreno Toscana is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot grapes, each uniquely enhancing the other. The flagship wine of the Italian winery Tenuta Sette Ponti.
A combination of the best grape varieties
The grapes come from south-facing vineyards with an average age of 75 years. The vineyards are located in the eponymous town where the estate is situated, through which the Oreno River flows. At an altitude of 250 meters, the vines enjoy the excellent climate. The soil is rich in limestone and characterized by its abundance of stones.
The vineyard is worked entirely by hand. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand, carefully selecting only the very best. Because only the best is good enough for the winemakers of Tenuta Sette Ponti. The grapes are collected in crates weighing no more than 15 kilos and transported to the winery. Here, the grapes are sorted again for quality on the sorting tables. They then undergo a gentle pressing and fermentation process for 25 days at a controlled temperature. The wine is aged in French oak barriques for 14 months, after which it is time to bottle. The wine is then given time to further develop in the bottle—12 months to be precise.
The overwhelming aroma of Oreno Toscana
When creating the blend, the winemakers consider the best qualities of each grape variety. Merlot provides structure, Cabernet Sauvignon adds class, and elegance comes from Petit Verdot. This ruby-red wine from Tenuta Sette Ponti has an overwhelming aroma that is full and complex, with hints of ripe blackberries, chocolate, and balsamic. It has a rich, dynamic palate, beautifully accentuated by oak, and a beautiful, long finish.
