Terrai OVG Garnacha

For this top-quality wine, we travel to the oldest DO in Aragon, in the small village of Longares. Here we find the vineyards and winery that have been producing exquisite wines for years. The name of the Terrai winery is derived from the grape used to make this red wine: Garnacha. Loosely translated, Terrai means Garnacha. The winery is so proud of its grape, which has provided the winemaker with a top-quality harvest for years. The wine region experiences very harsh winters and dry, especially hot summers, resulting in a full and highly aromatic harvest. The wind from the Ebro River cools the harvest and allows the bunches to ripen longer.

Today, the vines for this red wine are quite old. They have been growing in the rich soil structure for years, contributing to the unique harvest of Garnacha grapes. The growing season is very smooth and even, and at ideal ripeness, the grapes are harvested by hand. Harvesting takes place early in the morning to protect the bunches from oxidation and bruising during transport. Only the finest Garnacha grapes are picked during harvest, giving this wine its unique purity.

What does Terrai OVG Garnacha taste like?

The wine is a very soft and ripe wine with a beautiful color. In the glass, it is a garnet red with a slight purple hue. It flows from the glass and gives us a very warm feeling. Initially, a ripe aroma of red and black fruit, with cherries and blackberries taking center stage. Later, as the wine loosens up, it also reveals hints of spice and a touch of oak. The entire wine has been briefly aged in oak, which gives the flavor a fuller and richer character. We taste this right from the start: plenty of black fruit with subtle spice. On the back of the palate, a richness of spice, vanilla, and a touch of cedarwood.
