Varietal(s) Merlot

While Primitivo is the pride of Puglia, Merlot is the pride of South Tyrol, and Nebbiolo is characteristic of Piedmont, South Tyrol also boasts a true all-rounder: Merlot. While this grape isn't nearly as well-known as other varieties, don't underestimate its success. Demand for this grape has been increasing in recent years, so there's a good chance it will become a true celebrity. So make sure you have a good supply of Terre del Noce Merlot in your wine cellar and you'll be ahead of the curve.

The old vineyard of Terre del Noce Merlot

Merlot has been widely planted in South Tyrol since 1700. However, South Tyrol's origins lie with the Mezzacorona family, a little more recently. Nevertheless, the vineyards are among the finest that Northern Italy has to offer. The climate is excellent, with summers much milder than in the more southerly provinces. These conditions allow the Merlot grape to develop exceptionally well, and you can immediately taste that in Terre del Noce. Quality reigns supreme, and craftsmanship is evident. We remain grateful to the Mezzacorona family for this beautiful wine.

Time for a perfect wine from Terre del Noce

Terre del Noce Merlot is a success story, one we've fallen in love with. Merlot isn't well-known, but it has so much character. Spicy, a refined bitterness, and abundant red fruit. Your senses will discover all of this in this wine. The nose is characterized by an abundance of black fruit and a hint of wild berries. A delicate herbaceous note tickles the nose. The real party begins the moment you put a glass of Terre del Noce Merlot to your lips. So many flavors come together perfectly on your palate. Blackberries, currants, and cassis, but also herbs and a touch of licorice. Smoothness with a capital "S." A top wine from Italy, a top wine from South Tyrol.
