This Italian white wine, made from Pinot Grigio, is the most famous from the Tiefenbrunner winery. What a delightful glass of wine this is; absolutely everything is balanced and very refined.
The winery with a cozy atmosphere
Tiefenbrunner Winery has dedicated itself to quality in all its wines, producing wines typical of the grape and the vineyard. Christophe Tiefenbrunner began in 1991 and has significantly modernized the vineyards and perfected the winemaking process. It is a winery with a friendly atmosphere, the well-known South Tyrolean atmosphere, in other words. This beautiful winery also remains a wonderful place for tourists to relax and enjoy an exceptional wine. Tiefenbrunner offers a wide selection, so there's a suitable wine for every wine drinker. Grape arbors are typical of this region. The downside is that not all the grapes receive the right amount of sun. Therefore, Christophe decided to largely remove these and replace them with more regular vines. He also scaled back production slightly to elevate the quality of the wines. Tiefenbrunner owns twenty hectares of vineyards and also purchases grapes from other producers. These are primarily used to produce white wines, with only a few reds. Many wine lovers have fallen in love with Tiefenbrunner's subtle wines.
This Pinot Grigio, like other wines, is made from grapes harvested early to preserve their freshness. This creates a wine with the exotic fruit of a Pinot Gris, but also the fresh acidity of a wine crafted to resist its heavy, alcoholic character after the first glass.
What does the Tiefenbrunner Merus Pinot Grigio taste like?
In the glass, the wine is a bright golden yellow. On the nose, this Tiefenbrunner Pinot Grigio has a broad, vibrant palette of white flowers, apple, and pear, as well as peach and apricot. Very fruity, this fruit carries through to the palate, delicious. The palate is fresh and elegant, with hints of peach, apricot, and citrus fruit. The finish has a lovely light acidity that balances everything out.
