Varietal(s) Pinot Nero

A lovely Pinot Nero from the southern Tyrol region, made by Tiefenbrunner. The grapes grow at an altitude of 450 to 980 meters, a truly impressive elevation, but the grape simply thrives high up on the mountain. So it's a lot of work, but you can taste the dedication in this Tiefenbrunner Pinot Nero Turmhof.

A suitable wine from Tiefenbrunner for everyone

Tiefenbrunner Winery has dedicated itself to quality in all its wines, producing wines typical of the grape and vineyard. Christophe Tiefenbrunner began in 1991 and has significantly modernized the vineyards and perfected the winemaking process. It's a winery with a friendly atmosphere—that familiar South Tyrolean atmosphere, in other words. This beautiful winery also remains a wonderful place for tourists to relax and enjoy an exceptional wine. Tiefenbrunner offers a wide selection, so there's a suitable wine for every wine drinker. The Pinot Nero grape is becoming increasingly popular in the Alto Adige wine region. This isn't surprising, as enthusiasts worldwide are seeking fine Pinot Nero. This grape is perfectly suited here, thanks to its abundance of higher-altitude vineyards. Coolness is crucial here. This red wine is a blend of two vineyards: one high-altitude vineyard, at an impressive 800 to 850 meters, for freshness, and another at 400 to 550 meters, for added power and structure. The high-altitude vineyard, in Kurtatsch, has a high lime content, which contributes to the wine's acidity. A smart choice, as it results in a wine with greater complexity. After maceration in stainless steel tanks, biological acid decomposition and eight months of maturation in large and small wooden barrels take place, giving it a beautiful complexity and depth, without too much woody aroma.

What does the Tiefenbrunner Turmhof Blauburgunder Pinot Nero taste like?

The color is fantastic, deep red with an orange glow. The aroma is truly something to savor for hours: red fruit, light spices, and a touch of vanilla. But really, too much to list. The richness carries through to the flavor when enjoyed at the right temperature, around 16 degrees Celsius (60 degrees Fahrenheit). Then it has lovely fruity notes of cherry and berry, but also a touch of cedar, pepper, and nutmeg.
