Tinazzi Premium Opera N°3 2021 Vino d’Italia, Italy
Tinazzi Premium Opera N°3 2021 is a powerful Italian red wine that revolves around three distinct qualities: body, elegance, and intensity. This blend from Tinazzi's Premium line brings together ripe red fruit, spiciness, chocolate, and licorice in a full-bodied, long style. With 15% alcohol, controlled fermentation, and 98 points from Luca Maroni, this is a remarkable wine within the modern Tinazzi assortment.
Vineyards and region
Opera N°3 is not a classic wine from a single appellation, but an Italian red blend in which Tinazzi combines multiple grape varieties.
• Origin: The wine is positioned as Vino d’Italia and is made as a tribute to Italian red grapes. Therefore, this wine is less about one region and more about the combination of grapes, ripeness, and power.
• Wine line: Opera N°3 belongs to the Tinazzi Premium collection. Within this line, the focus is on rich, expressive wines with a distinct modern signature.
• Concept: The name Opera N°3 aligns with the wine's three keywords: body, elegance, and intensity. This makes this cuvée recognizable as a full-bodied Italian red wine with a lot of flavor pressure.
• Style: The wine has a deep, almost opaque red color. This intensity matches the ripe fruit, spiciness, and powerful structure of this blend.
Vinification and aging
The vinification is aimed at color, ripening
The vinification is aimed at color, ripe fruit, round tannins, and a powerful finish.
• Grape processing: The grapes are gently pressed and destemmed before fermentation begins. This ensures that the ripe fruit is carefully processed and the structure remains controlled.
• Fermentation: Fermentation and maceration last 10–15 days at a controlled temperature of 20–24 °C. This approach helps to extract color, fruit, spiciness, and tannins from the skins.
• Aging / Wood aging: The wine is aged in oak barrels. This aging gives extra notes of chocolate, licorice, spices, and a light woody influence, without overpowering the ripe red fruit.
• Technical balance: With 15% alcohol, 6.10 g/l acidity, and 4.7 g/l residual sugar, Opera N°3 has a lot of power, but the wine remains round and balanced at the same time.
Grape composition
For the 2021 vintage, Corvina Veronese, Primitivo, and Nero d’Avola are mentioned, without exact percentages.
• Corvina Veronese – Italian red blend: Corvina Veronese gives cherry fruit, freshness, and a spicy undertone. The grape is strongly associated with Veneto and provides extra tension in the blend.
• Primitivo – Italian red blend: Primitivo brings ripe red and dark fruit, round tannins, and a full, warm structure.
• Nero d’Avola – Italian red blend: Nero d’Avola adds depth, color, dark fruit tones, and a robust Mediterranean spiciness.
Tasting notes and serving suggestions
Deep and opaque red in the glass, with aromas of ripe red fruit, cassis, black cherry, plum, sweet spices, chocolate, licorice, and a slight smoky wood note. The taste is full and powerful, with ripe tannins, a lot of fruit concentration, good balance, and a long, warm finish.
• Serving temperature: Serve Tinazzi Premium Opera N°3 2021 at 18–20 °C and open the bottle about 1 hour before serving, so that the power, spiciness, and wood notes open up beautifully.
• Dishes: Serve with grilled beef, stew, lamb, game, pasta with rich tomato sauce, spicy oven dishes, or very ripe cheeses.

More information about Tinazzi
Tinazzi was founded in 1968 in Cavaion Veronese, in Veneto. From 1984, the family business started exporting, and in 1986, the family bought Tenuta Valleselle in Bardolino. Later, Tinazzi expanded further into Puglia and Valpolicella, so that today the house makes wines that show different sides of Italy. Opera N°3 fits perfectly within this vision: a modern, powerful red wine in which Italian grapes together form a recognizable Tinazzi style.
