Tinazzi San Giorgio Amarosè Primitivo Salento Rosato 2025 Salento IGP, Italy
Tinazzi San Giorgio Amarosè Primitivo Salento Rosato 2025 is a fresh rosato from Puglia, made from 100% Primitivo. This Southern Italian rosé comes from selected vineyards in the province of Taranto and showcases a softer, juicier side of Primitivo. With 12.5% alcohol, fine acidity, and short aging in steel, this wine is all about red fruit, floral notes, and summer drinkability.
Vineyards and Region
The grapes come from Salento, in southern Puglia, where Primitivo is one of the most important grape varieties.
• Location / Origin: The vineyards are located in the province of Taranto, in the heart of Salento. This southern part of Puglia is known for ripe grapes with rich fruit expression.
• Region: Salento forms the heel of Italy and is strongly influenced by sun, warmth, and sea breezes. This combination helps Primitivo ripen fully while the rosato retains sufficient freshness.
• Soil: The soil is calcareous, loamy, and gravelly, with a deep and dry structure. Limestone and gravel help with drainage and give the wine extra freshness and fine minerality.
• Climate & Influences: The Taranto area benefits from Mediterranean warmth and the influence of the Ionian Sea. This ensures ripe fruit but also airflow that keeps the grapes healthy.
Vinification and Aging
The vinification aims for freshness, color control, and the juicy fruitiness of Primitivo.
• Harvest & Selection: The Primitivo grapes are hand-harvested when optimally ripe. This preserves the purity of the fruit and gives the rosato its full aromatic base.
• Skin Contact: The grapes undergo 12–24 hours of skin maceration. During this short period, the must extracts its soft rosé color and typical Primitivo aromas from the skins.
• Fermentation: Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at 17–18 °C. This cool, controlled fermentation keeps the red fruit, floral notes, and fresh acidity beautifully vibrant.
• Aging: The wine undergoes short aging in stainless steel. This keeps the style pure, fruity, and direct, without oak influence.
Grape Composition
This rosato is made entirely from Primitivo.
• 100% Primitivo – Salento IGP: Primitivo gives this rosé its juicy red fruit, ripe raspberry, soft spice, and round structure. In rosé form, the grape remains fresher and lighter, with plenty of fruit and a smooth finish.
Tasting Notes and Serving Suggestions
Soft rosé in color, with aromas of raspberry, fresh wildflowers, and a hint of ripe honeydew melon. The taste is fresh and juicy, with plenty of fruit, fine acidity, subtle spice, and an elegant, slightly mineral finish.
• Serving Temperature: Serve Tinazzi San Giorgio Amarosè Primitivo Salento Rosato 2025 at 8–10 °C, so that the fruit remains fresh and the juicy structure feels beautifully crisp.
• Food Pairings: Pair with light appetizers, antipasti, grilled fish, chicken, salads with burrata, shellfish, or Mediterranean snacks.
