It's being released in a limited edition, extra-large bottle, so be quick, because the Tommasi Amarone 3-liter case is sure to sell out again this year.
The wines of Tommasi
The founder of the Tommasi winery is Giacomo Tommasi, who immediately saw potential in the area near the vibrant cultural city of Verona in 1902. This proved a wise move on Giacomo's part, as today Tommasi's vineyards—a total of over 200 hectares—are among the finest in the entire Valpolicella region. Thanks to the finest grapes, the winemaker is able to produce the very best Valpolicella wines, of which the Tommasi Amarone is the most famous.
The Tommasi Amarone
After harvest, the winemaker allows the Corvina, Molinara, and Rondinelle bunches to mature for a long time on small racks. This process results in significant sap loss, but it develops a remarkably aromatic character. The exquisite juice is then aged for an impressive three years in Slovenian oak. This incredibly time-consuming process makes Tommasi's Amarone wines extremely sought after.
A large bottle of Amarone from Tommasi
This limited edition bottle contains a whopping 3 liters of Amarone wine. It's a celebration from start to finish. Pass out the glasses and pour (you can get up to 25 glasses from this bottle). You'll be treated to a whirlwind of exquisite aromas: red cherries, roasted nuts, plums, and delicate spices. But what's most striking: the finish that glides down your throat like a velvet.
