The Negroamaro grapes are grown in the vineyards of Masseria Maime, in the beautiful wine region just north of Salento. This estate is located near the coastline and boasts a stunning landscape with abundant forests. This allows the grapes to benefit from the fresh sea breeze and protect them from the abundant sunshine. The name Calafuria comes from one of the more than 700 bays on the Apulian peninsula. The rosé wines produced here are of incredibly high quality. This is because the Negroamaro grape is best expressed near the sea. This rosé is delightfully fruity with pleasant aromas and perfectly captures what makes this region so unique.

Tradition combined with innovation

This top-quality wine is produced by the Tormaresca winery, located in one of the most beautiful areas near Salento. This winery combines classic winemaking with modern viticultural techniques, creating exceptional wines. In addition to Masseria Maime, the winery also owns the Bocca di Lupo estate. These two areas allow the winery to benefit from two distinct terroirs. Together, they enable Tormaresca to create unique wines. The Negroamaro grapes are harvested at peak ripeness and almost immediately destemmed and gently pressed. The resulting must is then transferred to stainless steel vats. Here, the juice is stored at a controlled temperature to promote natural clarification. Alcoholic fermentation then follows to enhance and preserve the aromas. Finally, the Calafuria Rosé is aged briefly on its own lees in stainless steel tanks.

What does the Tormaresca Calafuria Rose taste like?

And the result is stunning! A bright pink color in the glass, with aromas dancing from the glass. Fruity notes of grapefruit, peach, and pomegranate are embraced by delicate lavender notes. On the palate, it's a smooth wine with plenty of freshness. A beautifully balanced Italian rosé with a lingering finish.
