In the heel of Italy's boot, Negroamaro vines are planted in the San Pietro Vernotico vineyard. The grapes are cultivated with great care and contribute to this Masseria Maime wine's exquisite flavor with soft, delicate tannins. A refined wine from Puglia.
Unique wines from Tormaresca
This top-quality wine is produced by the Tormaresca winery. In one of the most beautiful areas near Salento, the estate stretches along the coastline, where the vineyards benefit from both the cool sea breeze and the shelter of the nearby forests. This winery combines classic winemaking with modern viticultural techniques, creating exceptional wines. In addition to Masseria Maime, the winery also owns the Bocca di Lupo estate. These two areas allow the winery to benefit from two distinct terroirs. Together, they enable Tormaresca to create unique wines.
This is also the case with this Masseria Maime Negroamaro. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand at the end of September. In the winery, the grapes are crushed, followed by maceration and alcoholic fermentation on the skins at a controlled temperature. This takes about two weeks, during which the skins are gently pumped over, optimally extracting the color, aromas, and tannins. The skins are removed, and the wine is transferred to French and Hungarian oak barrels, where malolactic fermentation takes place. Masseria Maìme matured for 12 months in tonneaux before bottling, and then aged for an additional 20 months in the bottle.
