Tormaresca Neprica Primitivo

The Primitivo grape is abundant in Puglia and is known in this region for its harmony and full flavor. Tormaresca adheres to tradition while also using innovative techniques to vinify this wine with exquisite flavor. The result is an aromatic wine with a smooth and soft taste.

The quality wines of Tormaresca

The Antinori family began investing in wine growing in Apulia in 1998. They firmly believed in the potential of this wine region. Tormaresca has two estates in the most renowned areas for producing high-quality wines: the Bocca di Lupo estate in the heart of Castel del Monte and Masseria Maìme in one of the most beautiful areas of Upper Salento. Here, they use local grapes and have surprised many wine lovers. Organic wines are also starting to play a larger role. The wines also regularly win awards, and for good reason. When the Primitivo grapes are just a little too ripe, they are harvested. After harvesting, they are immediately taken to the cellar, where a rigorous selection process awaits. This is followed by maceration on the skins at a controlled temperature. After about 10 days, malolactic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. The final wine is aged for eight months in stainless steel tanks and another four months in the bottle.

But the long wait is more than worth it. The Neprica Primitivo arrives in the glass with a ruby ​​red color. The aromas immediately burst forth. We note cherries, floral notes, violets, and light spices like pepper. The palate is smooth with soft tannins. In the second sip, these are joined by slightly sweeter tannins. An excellent freshness on the palate that leads to a pleasantly fruity finish.
