The Masseria Maime vineyards are located in one of Puglia's most beautiful wine regions. The estate is situated right on the coast and nestled among forests, creating a perfect climate for grape growing. The coast provides the necessary cooling, while the forests protect the vineyards from the harsh sun. The Masseria Maime estate has two plots: Roy and Roycello. The names refer to a crane that frequented the marshy area of the Cerano Woods, and the name, in dialect, mimicked Roy. The smaller Roycello is made from the same plot and uniquely reflects the terroir. Expressive aromas alternate with a mouthful of freshness.
Four months of maturation for Tormaresca Roycello
Tradition and a love of wine converge at the Tormaresca winery. The winery has a long history in Puglia and combines classic winemaking with innovative techniques. At the helm is the Antinori family, who began investing in the region in 1998. Tormaresca has two estates in renowned areas for producing high-quality wines: the Bocca di Lupo estate in the heart of Castel del Monte and Masseria Maime in one of the most beautiful areas of Upper Salento. These allow the winery to vinify unique and distinctive wines.
When the Fiano grapes are fully ripe and have fully developed their aromatic qualities, they are harvested. They are then taken directly to the winery where they are destemmed and gently pressed. The resulting must is chilled for 24 hours to promote natural settling and clarification. Alcoholic fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks, and finally, the wine is aged on its lees in stainless steel vats for approximately four months.
Enjoy the balanced Tormaresca Roycello
This Tormaresca Roycello radiates a straw-yellow color with light green reflections in the glass. The aroma is intense, with abundant citrus and grapefruit notes. These are accompanied by aromas of apricot, peach, and melon. Floral aromas are also clearly discernible. The taste is incredibly fresh with a distinct acidity. Balanced and surprisingly smooth.
