A beautiful blended wine from the heel of the Italian boot. More precisely, on the Bocca di Lupo estate. This vineyard is planted at an altitude of 250 meters above sea level, offering the perfect conditions for the grapes to ripen optimally. This blended wine was created to introduce wine lovers to the ancient Aglianico grape variety. It's a complex wine, but with enormous potential.
12 months of wood aging for Tormaresca Trentangeli
Since the 1990s, the Antinori family has been producing wines from the Tormaresca winery in the heel of Italy's boot. These are beautiful, high-quality wines that continue to improve in quality thanks to the aging vines. They are located in two of Puglia's most important wine regions: Bocca di Lupo in Castel del Monte and Masseria Maime in Salento.
The Trentangeli blend consists of 70 percent Aglianico, 20 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10 percent Syrah. The grapes are harvested at peak ripeness. Because they are slightly overripe, this results in a rich wine. The grapes are transported to the winery where they are gently pressed. The resulting must then ferments in contact with the skins in stainless steel tanks. These skins are continuously mixed with the must to extract as much of the grapes' characteristics as possible. After some time, the skins are removed, and then malolactic fermentation begins. This takes place in French and Hungarian oak barrels. The wine is then aged in these barrels for approximately 12 months, followed by eight months of bottle aging.
Enjoy an elegant taste sensation
But we assure you, the wait is more than worth it. The wine appears in the glass with an intense ruby red color. The aromas are immediately released. Wonderfully fruity with aromas of cherries and blackberries, complemented by spicy notes of pepper and licorice. On the palate, a warm flavor that is both rich and smooth. A pleasant structure, and thanks to the oak aging, this wine has acquired a certain elegance with soft tannins that complete the taste sensation.
