The name behind the wines from the Torre del Falasco series is Cantina Valpantena. They owe their name to the bandit Falasco, who rampaged through the valley in 1600 and settled in the region. Preserving traditions and writing history is something the Cantina Valpantena winery considers very important. Today, the entire vineyard comprises over 750 hectares of vineyards. They produce the finest Veneto wines on 250 different farms. Over the years, Torre del Falasco has invested heavily, including a completely renovated winery and a re-map of the vineyards.
The harvest for the Soave
This white Torre del Falasco Soave is known for its purity and ripeness, thanks to its old vineyard. Nestled in the Veneto hills, it has very deep roots. These deep roots provide the Garganega with abundant nutrients and facilitate easy water absorption. This is essential, as it can get quite warm there in the summer. The abundant sunshine and cool breezes give this Soave its distinctive style. Once the harvest is ripe, the bunches are gathered at night. The grapes retain their freshness and are protected during transport to Torre del Falasco. Upon arrival, every bunch is inspected, as purity is paramount for this Soave.
Lovely is this Torre del Falasco Soave
Soave literally means "sweet," a perfect description for this soft Italian white wine. This is immediately apparent upon opening the bottle, as we smell hints of citrus fruit, peaches, and a touch of green apple. In the glass, it is straw yellow with a green rim, characteristic of a top-quality Soave. Nosing the glass, we encounter delicate aromas of apples, fresh lemons, green herbs, and a touch of grapefruit. The palate is a pure indulgence, with plenty of ripe yellow and citrus fruit on the tongue, along with a touch of spice. Later, as the wine swirls in the mouth, we also detect hints of almonds and lychee.
