Description
Torre del Falasco, a series of beautiful wines from the large and unique winery Cantina Valpantena. Since 1958, a major force in producing delicious and affordable wines in the Veneto region. The name for the Torre del Falasco series comes from the bandit Falasco who rampaged through the valley around 1600 and hid in the hamlet of Stallavena. History is very important to the Torre del Falasco winery; their wines reflect their long winemaking history and allow us to enjoy all the beauty of the region. Since its founding in 1958, the winery has grown considerably and now owns 750 hectares of beautiful vineyards. The winery was also recently completely renovated, allowing for the production of wines using many modern techniques. This offers the advantage that the wines offer consistent quality year after year.
Corvina at its best!
This delicious and beautiful red wine is made with the renowned Corvina grape. This grape is perfectly suited for making a good Valpolicella wine. And this Torre Del Falasco Valpolicella is certainly a good Valpolicella! The vines are planted in rich soil where grapes have been grown for decades. Thanks to this ancient and rich soil, the plants can draw ample nutrients from the subsoil. This is especially important during the very hot summers. Because the vineyards for this Valpolicella are situated at a slightly higher elevation, there is still sufficient cooling, preventing the grapes from ripening too quickly. When the bunches have reached the right ripeness, the winemaker will signal the start of the annual harvest. The bunches are carefully harvested and then rigorously selected, after which the grapes are pressed. After vinification, the wine is aged for several months in the cellars of Cantina Valpantena for more depth and body. The taste of this Valpolicella Superiore
The end result of all the hard work in the vineyards and the winery is certainly impressive. What a gem of a red wine! When we uncork the beautiful bottle, a palette of aromas is released that immediately captivates us. Aromas of plums and cherries predominate. A vigorous swirl of the glass also reveals aromas of blackberries and a touch of basil—the very essence of Italy! The color is a beautiful deep ruby red with a purple rim. By the time we finally get around to tasting it, we're completely captivated. The soft flavors of ripe red and black fruit completely relax us. As we take another sip, we also get hints of licorice.Product details
