Long maturation for Torrevento Since 1913 Primitivo
Torrevento is a renowned winery located in northern Apulia, among vineyards at the foot of Castel del Monte. In the Torre del Vento Contrada, nestled in the heart of the Alta Murgia National Park, the wines are produced according to sustainable agriculture regulations. The rustic character of the wine production remains Torrevento's strength, and the winery is dedicated to the recovery and enhancement of local grape varieties, reflecting the terroir's unique suitability for viticulture. Torrevento has been Equalitas certified for over 20 years, confirming its commitment to environmental, ethical, and economic sustainability.
The refined production process of Torrevento Primitivo begins when the grapes are harvested in mid-September and immediately brought to the winery. There, the grapes undergo fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by maceration of the must. Finally, the wine is aged for 10 months in stainless steel tanks and 6 months in traditional barriques. This approach ensures a harmonious and balanced result.
