Varietal(s) Nero of Troia

This Salento Nero di Troia is a powerful red wine from southern Italy. The vineyards are located in Salento and are quite old. This results in unique grapes with wonderful characteristics. Combined with a perfect warm climate, you get high-quality wines. This Nero di Troia, for example, boasts beautiful fruity notes.

Quality wines from Velarino Salento

The Italian family business Botter was founded in 1928 by Carlo Botter in the village of Fossalta di Piave near Venice. They now own vineyards in all the major regions of Italy and, through them, also market the Velarino brand from Puglia. In 1993, they decided to expand their portfolio with vineyards in other regions, investing heavily in a new winery. Their success has been unprecedented, and Botter wines are enjoyed with great pleasure in many countries. The grapes are planted in the heel of the Italian boot, in Puglia to be precise. Here, they enjoy high temperatures, resulting in a very full-bodied wine with fruity notes. The soil, composed of clay and limestone, provides a fertile base. At optimal ripeness, the grapes are harvested mechanically and picked by hand. In the winery, they are then crushed and destemmed, after which the maceration and fermentation process can begin. Regular punch-downs are performed during these processes to further enhance the color and tannins. After fermentation, the wine is aged in stainless steel tanks.

Enjoy the complete taste experience of Salento Nero di Troia

A purple-red Nero di Troia appears in the glass. The aroma is expressive with abundant fruity notes, including plums, complemented by soft vanilla notes. The taste is exceptional, with plenty of full-bodied, sweet dark fruit and subtle chocolate notes. A long finish completes the tasting experience. An original wine from Italy that pairs beautifully with meat and game dishes.
