Pecatis Tuis Verdejo

This beautiful wine is made from the Verdejo grape from the Castilla y León wine region. And the winery is proud of this, as only from this Spanish wine region do such fine white wines come. The big name behind this winery is Cuatro Rayas, and we don't need to explain them any further when it comes to Spanish wine culture. Since 1925, they have been crafting the finest wines with the goal of creating affordable wines that showcase Spanish traditions. They have succeeded again with this white wine from Pecatis Tuis; we clearly taste the Verdejo grape, thanks to the vineyard's perfect location, explains winemaker Ángel Calleja.

The Verdejo grape thrives in a cooler climate, meaning the vineyard is situated at a higher elevation, enjoying both sunshine and freshness. It receives this refreshment from the wind and the sharp drop in nighttime temperatures, preserving the grapes' freshness and acidity. The old vines of Pecatis Tuis now produce a top-notch harvest, which is harvested mechanically at night. Upon arrival at the winery, all bunches are inspected, and only the finest are used in this white wine. After aging in steel vats in the Pecatis Tuis cellars, the bottles are quickly filled to preserve the freshness.

We think this delicious wine is a very pleasant newcomer from last year! Especially for this top price point, it's a wine you'll never forget! The impression begins the moment you pour this white wine, revealing a crystal-clear color with a green sheen. The most beautiful aromas burst from the glass, bringing to mind nuances of gooseberries, pineapple, peach, melon, a light spice, and a hint of almond. The palate of this Verdejo Pecatis Tuis is beautifully juicy with plenty of fresh fruit notes of peach, melon, and gooseberries. On the back of the palate and in the finish, there are hints of fennel and herbs. The finish is slightly bitter, but also abundant with white and citrus fruit.
