Veuve du Vernay Demi-Sec is a very pleasant, slightly sweet sparkling wine. This sparkling wine is made from the Ugni Blanc grape, a grape that lends itself perfectly to making a slightly sweet sparkling wine. These grapes are grown in Beaune, in the beautiful Burgundy region. Here, the grapes can ripen in peace and with ample sunshine. Because the vineyards for Ugni Blanc are situated at a slightly higher elevation, the grapes retain a certain freshness. This prevents the grapes from becoming too sweet, and the wine remains very pleasant.

The harvest of the Veuve du Vernay Demi Sec

Winemaker Jean-Jacques Hochet knows better than anyone how to make sparkling wines. With years of experience, he achieves perfect quality for all his sparkling wines every year. To guarantee this quality, the vineyards are meticulously maintained, and the harvest for this Ugni Blanc is done entirely by hand. A strict selection process is applied to the grapes before they go to the press. After pressing, the still white wine is stored in the cellars along with sugar and yeast to develop its pleasant mousse. Unlike the Brut and Rosé, the sugar content of the Demi-Sec is slightly higher. The result?

What does the Demi Sec Veuve du Vernay taste like?

A superb sparkling wine! Just opening the bottle is a celebration with the familiar champagne cork. We "pop" into a beautiful taste sensation. The pale yellow color with a gold rim and the dancing bubbles are already a promising start. The aroma is very rich with peach, pear, and nectarine aromas. The taste is refined with a delicate sweetness. Delicious nuances of ripe yellow fruit and a hint of honey swirl through our mouths. The finish is mild with a slight sweetness. A superb wine to serve at a reception or with a fruit dessert. Just because it's Wednesday is also a good idea!
