For high-quality wines, Zuccardi is the place to be. Originally from Italy, the family decided to move to Argentina at the end of the 19th century, resulting in a successful winery. This Bonarda is part of the house's organic line, but they also produce conventional wines. Quality is always paramount.
Award-winning Argentinian winery Zuccardi
Zuccardi was founded in 1963 when grandfather Alberto Zuccardi planted the first hectares of vines in Maipu, Mendoza. Since then, the Zuccardi family has continued to grow and develop. Sebastian inherited from his father the determination and desire to constantly strive for excellence. The wines regularly receive awards at international wine tastings and trade fairs.
Thanks in part to the family's unique location, they are able to produce high-quality wines. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of between 1,000 and 3,000 meters, something unthinkable in Europe. Thanks to these altitudes, nighttime temperatures are low enough to infuse the grapes with abundant flavor and color. The utmost care is taken in the winemaking process. The grapes are not only harvested by hand but also transported to the winery in small boxes to protect them from damage. In the ultra-modern winery, low temperatures during fermentation and storage are paramount.
Manual harvest for Vida Organica Bonarda
The Bonarda grapes, originally from Italy, are harvested by hand. The grapes are rigorously inspected in the winery, as only the finest juice is good enough. Yields have been significantly reduced, resulting in Bonardo's consistently higher quality in recent years. The result is a fruity wine with flavors of fresh fruits like strawberries, black cherries, grapes, and plums. It has a distinctive flavor somewhat comparable to Merlot. Incidentally, it pairs exceptionally well with meat dishes, casseroles, and poultry.
