Four generations of quality wine
The Vignobles Vellas winery was founded four generations ago in the heart of the Languedoc region. The main family property, the Mas du Pont estate, the center of their operations, is a place of culture and tradition. It is located in the towns of Teyran and Crès, near Montpellier, between Pic St. Loup and the Mediterranean Sea. Today, Nicolas Vella is at the helm; he is passionate about wine and the Languedoc region. He strives for excellence, authenticity, and innovation. This provides the perfect foundation for producing wines of exceptional quality. Vignobles Vellas boasts 120 hectares of vineyards spread across five estates. The bottles are distinguished by striking labels.
In addition to their own vineyards, their selection is further supplemented by partnerships with winemakers from the Languedoc, the Sud-Ouest, the Rhône Valley, and Provence. Thanks to these collaborations, they can offer wines from all regions of southern France. The majority of their vineyards are organic, as respect for nature is paramount.
A powerful Mourvedre from Vignobles Vellas
After harvest, the grapes are carefully selected. The wine undergoes a lengthy, traditional vinification process with strict temperature controls. This makes this Mourvedre a top-notch red wine. The color is deep dark purple, almost black, with wonderful aromas of blackberry, cherry, and black pepper. The palate is rich and powerful, with delicious nuances of black fruit interspersed with vanilla and a hint of pepper. Perfect with red meat dishes, aged cheeses, or a winter evening by the fireplace.
