Villa AIX Rosé 2024 Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence, France

Villa AIX Rosé 2024 is a light, elegant Provence rosé for sunny moments, aperitifs, and dishes where freshness is more important than power. The wine stands out with its soft, round initial taste, floral nose, and white peach aroma, with just enough tension at the end to keep it lively. This style is perfectly at home in Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence. What is Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence? It's a Provençal appellation in the western part of the region, officially recognized as an AOP in 1985.

Vineyards and region

This rosé comes from an appellation where calcareous soils, Mediterranean influence, and the mistral together largely define its style.

  • Location / Origin: Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence is located in the western part of Provence and stretches from the Durance to the Mediterranean Sea, and from the Rhône Valley to Sainte-Victoire. For Villa AIX, this refers to the same appellation zone described in the product sheet as the area from Montagne Sainte-Victoire to the Alpilles and from the Côte Bleue to the Durance Valley.
  • Soil: The grapes grow on clay and limestone. Within this appellation, stony clay and calcareous soils are typical, which is well-suited for rosé with suppleness, finesse, and a fresh profile.
  • Climate & Influences: The climate is Mediterranean, with many hours of sunshine and the cool, dry mistral as a decisive factor. This combination helps to balance ripe fruit with tension and a clean, fresh style.
  • Appellation context: The appellation comprises 49 municipalities in Bouches-du-Rhône and 2 in Var. Thus, Villa AIX belongs to a broad but clearly defined Provençal rosé zone where rosé is the most important wine style.

Grape Composition

The blend is classic Provençal in structure and gives this rosé its light, round, and accessible character.

  • 60% Grenache – Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence: Grenache gives the wine its body, breadth, and soft power, with an elegant fruit expression in its youth.
  • 35% Cinsault – Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence: Cinsault brings freshness, refinement, and a fruity touch that perfectly matches the light, supple profile of Provence rosé.
  • 5% Syrah – Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence: Syrah supports the color and adds a bit of extra depth and structure to the blend.

Tasting Notes and Serving Suggestions

Pale pink in the glass, with an elegant nose of flowers and white peach. On the palate, this rosé is round and supple, with a harmonious structure and a fresh tension in the finish. The aftertaste remains soft, pleasant, and invitingly drinkable.

  • Serving Temperature: 8–10 °C works best here, as this range keeps the floral notes and white peach fresh while beautifully bringing out the round structure.
  • Dishes: Charcuterie, grilled fish, and white meats pair very naturally with this rosé, as it has enough suppleness for soft textures and enough freshness for light, summer dishes.
