Villa Huesgen is a winery located in the heart of the Mittelmosel region, near Traben-Trarbach, a town in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. They excel at utilizing the magnificent Riesling grape, which is so important to the Mosel region. The winery utilizes traditional viticultural methods combined with modern technology and expertise to produce wines that are the expression of the terroir and the grape variety. The Riesling grape plays a significant role in the production of Villa Huesgen's wines, and the winery aims to emphasize the fruity and mineral characteristics of this grape in their wines. This results in elegant, sleek, and fruity wines with the typical mineral flavor so characteristic of Mosel wines.

The beautiful vineyards of Villa Huesgen

The Riesling grapes are grown in the Enkircher Steffensberg vineyard in the Mosel region. This vineyard features enormously steep slopes with copper-red and gray slate soils. This soil structure gives the final wine greater strength and structure. When the grapes are fully ripe, they are harvested entirely by hand and brought to the winery. Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes are foot-pressed according to traditional methods. The resulting juice is then held in contact with the grape skins to extract more flavor and aromas. The juice is then very gently pressed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at a cool temperature. After this, the wine remains in contact with the yeast cells for some time. The Riesling Kabinett Feinherb is made to be slightly sweeter than off-dry.

How does the Villa Huesgen Enkircher Steffensberg Riesling Kabinett Feinherb taste?

The aromatic nose of this Riesling wine immediately catches the eye. We note apricot, peach, lemon, and white lily. Wonderfully fresh notes and, above all, vibrant aromas. On the palate, it's a balanced wine with a beautiful balance between sweetness and acidity. A light and elegant texture with fruity flavors. These are supported on the palate by slightly spicy notes.
