Located in Traben-Trarbach, Germany, the Villa Huesgen winery boasts a long history dating back to 1735. Today, the eighth generation of Ado Huesgen is at the helm. With a deep love for the Mosel region and its beautiful steep slopes, they work passionately in the vineyards. All of this with an eye to the future, and therefore with great respect for nature. Villa Huesgen's wines are each refined and complex, and, of course, wines to be savored. The grapes for this Villa Huesgen Weissburgunder come from a vineyard near the Mosel River. This allows for very cool nights, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly. The gray slate soil contributes to the complexity of this white wine. Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes are foot-pressed using traditional methods. The resulting juice is left in contact with the grape skins for approximately 4 to 6 hours to extract more flavor and aromas. The juice is then very gently pressed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at a cool temperature. After this, the wine remains in contact with the yeast cells for some time. Finally, the wine is aged in stainless steel tanks before bottling.
