The Les Caves de Saint Saturnin winery is known for its high quality and uniquely showcases the beauty of the South of France. The Villa Victoire wines perfectly reflect this. The French Syrah is an attractive red wine with abundant fruit aromas and a robust flavor.
The vineyards for Villa Victoire Syrah
Saint Saturnin's south-facing vineyards cover 760 hectares of vines at an altitude of 200 to 400 meters above sea level on limestone soils at the foot of the Lazarc Plateau. Thanks to its soil and Mediterranean influence, the area boasts many interesting micro-terroirs. Wines have been produced here for over 60 years. The cool climate allows the grapes to ripen perfectly, as the daytime heat is perfectly balanced by the cool nights.
The high quality of the wines is largely due to vinologist Bruno Raymond. He knows exactly which combinations yield the most powerful expression from the enormous variety of grapes. He strives to maximize the terroir, and we can enjoy this with great pleasure. The Syrah grapes grow in vineyards at the foot of Seranne and Mont Baudille. The vineyards are surrounded by olive groves. The climate is warm and dry. The soil consists of clay and limestone, in which the vines are deeply rooted. The grapes are selected in the vineyard itself, ensuring that only the best are transported to the winery after harvest.
What does the Villa Victoire Syrah Reserve taste like?
The result is a ripe and intensely fruity Syrah. As soon as we pour this wine, we're drawn to the glass by the inviting aromas of small, ripe red fruits like strawberries and raspberries. The palate is powerful and full-bodied, with a good balance of ripe fruit, tannins, and elegant acidity.
