Wood aging for the Voche Rioja Gran Reserva
This red wine from Voche Rioja is made exclusively from the Tempranillo grape, cultivated with love and meticulous pruning in the Rioja region. A great deal of work is required in the vineyard to give the 60-year-old vines everything they need. The final harvest is phenomenal and considered one of the best in the region. Everything is harvested by hand and rigorously selected, with only the finest bunches making it into the bottle. First, the wine is aged for 20 months in new French oak barrels. This allows the wine to develop even more oak influences, resulting in a stunning result. After this period, the winemaker decides it's not quite good enough and places the bottles in the cellar for at least another six months to mature in the bottle.
Full and very powerful this Voche Rioja Gran Reserva
Yes, yes, a wine we'll never forget. An explosive aroma, with an excellent combination of black fruit and spices like cloves, dark chocolate, and toffee. On the palate, this wine is structured, rich, balanced, with a high concentration of ripe tannins, long, and with a complex flavor. We noted ripe black fruit, dark chocolate, tobacco, vanilla, cedar, and a hint of a spice rack. Too much to list, so experience and savor it until the last sip.
