As soon as you open the bottle, the white and citrus fruit bursts out at you, and on the nose, we also discovered aromas of grapefruit, gooseberry, and green apple. A pleasant, invigorating taste—a real beauty. On the palate, we discovered fine Riesling acidity with plenty of white and citrus fruit in this Von Winning Win Winning Riesling. Classy!

Unique wines from the Von Winning winery

The Von Winning winery was founded in 1849 and is named after Captain Leopold Von Winning. This man was a true pioneer of German wines. It was no coincidence that he settled in Deidesheim. This well-known village, situated directly on the famous Weinstrasse, is the epicenter of all the beauty the Palatinate has to offer. Von Winning also has vineyards in Forst, Ruppertsberg, and Neustadt. A total of only 38 hectares, yet all of the highest quality.

The origins of the Riesling grapes

Von Winning has developed into a true authority on Riesling. They know the Pfalz like the back of their hand and have therefore been able to acquire the finest vineyards over the past few generations. Some of these vineyards are classified as Erstes Gewachs, comparable to Grand Cru. The grapes for Von Winning Win Win Riesling also come from these classified vineyards. It is a blend of Erstes Gewachs vineyards Kalkofen, Kieselberg, and Pechstein. An excellent blend is created, which is then matured classically in large wooden vats. This gives Von Winning Win Win Riesling that little something extra. The low residual sugar percentage is striking, making this Riesling wine one of the driest in the Von Winning range.
