In Argentina, where the sun shines constantly and the vineyards are found on the beautiful hills of Mendoza, the Chardonnay grapes for this white wine ripen. Like no other, this wine absorbs the terroir and emerges in the glass as a powerful white wine with fruity notes. A true masterpiece from the Zuccardi winery.
The beginning of the Zuccardi winery
In 1963, Alberto Tito Zuccardi planted a vineyard in the Maipú region, with the goal of showing other local farmers how his irrigation system worked. Little did he know at the time that this would be the beginning of his lifelong passion. Today, the Zuccardi winery is led by Sebastián Zuccardi, following in the footsteps of his grandfather Alberto and his father José. Sebastián's goal is to create wines of exceptional purity, firmly rooted in the rich terroirs of the Uco Valley, at the foot of the majestic Andes Mountains.
Zuccardi Q Chardonnay is a beautiful white wine made from Chardonnay grapes sourced from various high-altitude plots in Mendoza. Each plot is carefully selected and harvested at the perfect time. In the winery, some of the whole fruit undergoes direct pressing, while the rest undergoes careful maceration with the crushed grapes at low temperatures. These different techniques ensure that the characteristic qualities of each grape are optimally expressed. The must obtained after this careful selection and treatment is then fermented with indigenous yeasts in both new and used French oak barrels, where the wine develops and refines. The wine is aged in these barrels for six months.
Zuccardi Q Chardonnay; balance between fruitiness and oak
This Chardonnay emerges in the glass with an enchanting yellow color. The nose reveals enticing aromas of pear, apple, and mineral notes. A hint of spice and toast adds another layer of complexity. It presents itself with a refreshing vibrancy and a lush volume on the palate, a beautiful balance between fruitiness and oak notes. The oak adds a subtle creaminess and vanilla, while the fruity aspect continues to shine. The finish is long and satisfying, with a subtle interplay of fruity nuances and a soft, lingering finish.
