Manual harvest for Zuccardi Serie A Chardonnay Viognier
Zuccardi is a renowned Argentine winery internationally recognized for its unparalleled dedication to quality and innovation. Founded in 1963 by Alberto Zuccardi, it is now proudly led by the third generation of the family.
Located in breathtaking Mendoza, one of Argentina's most prestigious wine regions, Zuccardi has made a lasting impression. With over 1,000 hectares of vineyards spread across several excellent regions, the winery is blessed with a diverse terroir.
The grapes for Zuccardi Serie A Chardonnay Viognier are hand-harvested in the vineyards of the Uco Valley and the higher regions of Mendoza, Argentina. This selection ensures that only the finest grapes are used for this blend. Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes undergo a low-temperature maceration, during which the skins and juice are briefly in contact to extract the desired aromas and flavors. The grapes are then immediately pressed, separating the juice from the skins. The Chardonnay grapes then undergo fermentation and aging for six months in French oak barrels, giving the wine structure, texture, and subtle citrus notes. The Viognier grapes, on the other hand, are fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks to preserve the delicate floral aromas, peach, and apricot notes. After this, the wine is blended and aged for another six months in French oak barrels.
