Vintage Report
The 2023 vintage in the Roussillon region is considered outstanding with a score of 94 on the Robert Parker scale. This indicates a year of exceptional quality with wines exhibiting excellent character.
This is the top wine from Château Lauriga, and we're writing "TOP" in capital letters because this is a true masterpiece. The old vineyards and winery were owned for many years by the French-Catalan Clar family. A few years ago, Jean-Claude Mas was given the opportunity to take over the family estate. Jean-Claude didn't hesitate, as he already knew the wines and the beautiful vineyards. The Clar family was delighted with the acquisition, as unfortunately, there was no successor in the family. However, the family did want the wines and their vineyards to be preserved, and with this, the history of the Clar family is a fact. Much has been invested, but also a great deal of knowledge has been brought to Château Lauriga, and this has greatly benefited the quality of the wines. The wines are internationally renowned, and he has also captured our hearts.
The best white wine from Chateau Lauriga
This top-quality wine is made from Grenache Gris and Macabeo grapes, grown on incredibly old vines, up to 45 years old. The old vineyard is located in the beautiful Côtes des Catalanes region of southern France. The soil structure is unique and contains a treasure trove of nutrients for white grape varieties. The perfect climate contributes to the even maturation of the grapes, which are harvested by hand. All bunches for this Château Lauriga Soleil Blanc are rigorously selected, ensuring the harvest is exceptionally pure. After the first pressing, this white wine is aged in oak for a full ten months. The oak has a profound influence on the wine, resulting in a very powerful white wine with a crystal-clear finish.Full and very powerful this Chateau Lauriga Soleil Blanc
But that was already apparent when we tasted this wine. It has a light yellow color with green highlights. The aroma is intense and original, with toasted notes and aromas of peach and pear. The taste is full and powerful, and we detected a hint of licorice on the palate. The Château Lauriga Soleil Blanc displays a lovely freshness and a rich structure with plenty of ripe fruit, vanilla, and roasted nuts.Product details
