The 2022 vintage for white wines in California received excellent ratings, ranging from 91 to 93 points, indicating a high level of quality. The wines from this year are approachable early and show beautiful fruit concentration.
An American-made dessert wine. The story begins like an episode fit for a show like "Ik vertrek." Andrew and Laurel Quady, both with good jobs but hectic lives in Southern California, sought peace and quiet and decided to embark on a new adventure in the mid-1970s. They moved to Madera, further north in California, to grow wine. In the early 1980s, Andrew discovered a vineyard with unused Orange Muscat grapes near the town of Reedley, just west of Sequoia National Park. He decided to use them, and Essencia Orange Muscat was born.

Essensia Orange Muscat was discovered by chance and has been produced since the early 1980s. For nearly 40 years, it has been considered a special dessert wine from sunny California. Thanks to the production of Essensia Orange Muscat, Quady's, the couple's winery, became a major player in the international market. The process for creating a bottle of Essensia Orange Muscat is similar to that of Port.
